The synchs here are delicious- we've been mulling over Jupiter/Sagittarius symbology on the Secret Sun and "Aker" popped up on a word-verification code when I was responding to a post on Andre's site.We have a whole host of rich symbols in motion here; Laurie being the feminine diminutive of Laurus (which relates to Apollo) coupled with Jupiter, lord of the heavens. "Spectre" is actually derived from "spectrum" which relates to light. Malin is derived from Magdalene, which ultimately brings us from Jupiter to Christ via Serapis. But Aker-Man is the truly juicy hit here.
In Egyptian mythology, Aker is the god of gates, symbolized by two lions or leopards, a motif we saw in relation to Inanna/Lilith on the Secret Sun.
As Egyptians believed that the gates of the morning and evening were guarded by Aker, they often placed statues of lions at the doors of their palaces and tombs. This was to guard the households and tombs from evil spirits and other malevolent beings. Sometimes they gave these statues the heads of men and women. And since Aker is an earth god, back to Earth Akhet, since the two lions of Aker often bore the Akhet. Been seeing much "gate" symbology in personal life. Interesting. Car geek factoid: Akerman geometry is steering that compensates for the inner wheel turning more slowly than the outer wheel. Not sure why I told you that, except that I told the exact same thing to Var a few days ago. Very odd.
