Bad vibes in Tracy

Who wants to bet that the Sandra Cantu story is going to rip a lid off of something rotten? Commenters on the Tracy Press site are not convinced that Melissa Huckaby's "confession" is the end of the story, no matter how hard the media tries to bury the lede. Several commenters are asking is this woman isn't covering up for someone else. And now this pops up out of nowhere:

The number of women accusing a Tracy plastic surgeon of sexually assaulting them has grown to 64 — one of them a 16-year-old.

Peter Chi, 46, of Livermore, will appear in court for further arraignment on Tuesday.

The ear, nose and throat doctor performed more than 5,000 surgeries during his 13-year medical career. Tracy police arrested him in February on charges that he raped eight women. That number quickly tripled.

But women kept calling in with allegations of rape, police said today. Investigators added dozens more charges.

In a criminal complaint filed today, police allege that 64 women ranging in age from 16 to 63 had come forward with accusations of rape.

Even some former employees claimed sexual assault.

Officially, Chi faces 49 charges of sexual battery by fraud, 16 for rape and one for committing a lewd act on a child — all felonies.

A judge ordered Chi in February to surrender his medical license and to stay away from his Tracy Boulevard practice.

What is Melissa talking about to police? Get the state and the FBI over there. If clergy are involved, chances are good that local officials are as well. I've saved the comments on my hard drive just in case church authorities pressure the newspaper to have them removed. You'd be shocked how many stories like this are suppressed in the media by that kind of pressure.
