Although the previous films were rated R, I'm not put off by the prospect of a PG-13 rating. I'm just intrigued by the potential symbolism of the whole thing. The whole ratings system is pretty screwed up, anyway.
Apropos, I saw the Metropolitan Opera's HD broadcast of Strauss' Salome last October. When Karita Mattila (the singer playing Salome) shed her last bit of clothing during the "Dance of the Seven Veils," the camera focused on the top of her back, and cut to Herod (if I remember right). This is because the Met's HD broadcasts are intended as family events. And yet, Mattila did a pretty suggetive "Dance of the Seven Veils" (complete with Marlene Dietrich-type reverse-drag), and she fondled the head of Jochanaan in a rather ghastly tableau that looked like something out of a slasher movie.
It's a shame how desecration of the human form is viewed as less obscene than its beauty. Of course, since Ms. Mattila is pushing (a still very attractive) 50, people have "joked" about being relieved at not seeing her naked. It's really sad how our notions of beauty can be so parochial and unforgiving.

I'm generally not in to those kind of movies... but that's a pretty bitchin' trailer.
It's too bad it's going to be PG-13, it looks like an enjoyable movie though.
