What the UFO community does not seem to realize is that by labeling any unusual craft sighting as a UFO, they provide excellent cover for stealthcraft programs. Since most UFO reports are considered too unbelievable to be reported by the traditional news media, they are generally ignored.
However, let us suppose that UFO reports do get into the media or are reported via the internet and other news sources, would it not be a good idea for enemy agencies to look into these reports because of the possibility that these reports may be stealthcraft sightings?
Absolutely.
Since enemy agencies would be looking for UFO reports, it would then be a good idea for the agencies actually conducting stealthcraft programs to create false sightings. By staging fake sightings, then by proving that the sightings are false, the credibility of the UFO community is again diminished. Then when, and if, legitimate stealthcraft are spotted, any report issued by the UFO community is relegated to the realm of the ‘loonies’ and the unbelievable. Mass media would ignore the report and many legitimate sightings of stealth-craft would be dismissed.
BTW, Stanton Friedman said much the same thing 20 years ago.

UFO simply means an
Unidentified Flying Object
That acronym is used to designate ANY object that is in the air and not identified.
What they need to do is stop calling themselves the UFO community and start calling themselves:
Extraterrestrial Craft and Phenomenon Investigators (ECPI / ECI / EPI)
Instead of the UFO community or UFO investigator.
Change the acronym, change the association, change the perception.
They could then reply to the skeptics
"No I'm not a UFO investigator! I'm an Extraterrestrial Craft and Phenomenon Investigator".
Goverment mind-fracks us with this very same technique every day.
