Sun (worship?) Chips

What a fascinating little commerical. I caught it at the beginning of the Caprica trailer.

......and another. This one's for the Ford ka and is entitled "Look deeper."

Not to sound too much like a doubting Thomas here, but isn't anything relating to the Sun just lazy (or perhaps obvious, if not altogether intelligent) marketing? There's this massive billboard that moves overhead every day from East to West. It's called the sun. When you walk outside and feel the sun's warmth will it remind you of the chips - so that you go and buy some? Perhaps that's as deep as it gets...

Maybe all this burgeoning new age, universal awareness will culminate in nothing more than just another way of making money - capitalism at its finest. No doubt, after this world economy fiasco fixes itself, everyone will head straight down the same path all over again. It kind of reminds me of the end of 'The Devil's Advocate' where Al Pacino is victorious in declaring that after everything Keanu had been through (and learned of himself) he still managed to get hooked by his inherent vanity.

Just puttin the idea out there...

Here's a promo for ITV (a public service broadcaster in the UK). They only show the 30sec cut on TV but here's the longer net version.

I don't know if it's been brought to your attention yet but, have you noticed the new Quaker oatmeal campaign with the creepy "Go humans go" slogan.
