Restoration Revelation: Another Day, Another Pharaoh

More of the same, but the possible ley lines fascinate me. Just a footnote or part of an emerging narrative?:

The missing pyramid of an obscure pharaoh that ruled Egypt some 4,300 years ago could lie at the intersection of a series of invisible lines in South Saqqara, according to new astronomical and topographical research.

Connecting the funerary complexes raised by the kings of the 6th Dynasty between 2,322 B.C. and 2,151 B.C., these lines would have governed the sacred space of the Saqqara area, in accordance with a number of criteria such as dynastic lineage, religion and astronomical alignment.

Restoration Revelation: "Ancient door to afterlife discovered"

And the hits just keep-a-comin':

CAIRO (AFP) – A large red granite false door from the tomb of an ancient queen's powerful vizier has been discovered in Luxor, Egypt's culture minister said on Monday.

The carved stone door -- which ancient Egyptians believed was the threshold to the afterlife -- was unearthed near the Karnak Temple in Luxor and belongs to the tomb of User, a powerful advisor to the 18th dynasty Queen Hatshepsut, Faruk Hosni said in a statement.

The door, 1.75 metres (5.7 feet) high and 50 cm (19 inches) thick, is engraved with religious texts and various titles used by User...

Strangely enough, Hatshepsut is one of history's most powerful cross-dressers (gives the term "drag king" a whole new meaning). Check out this video on the phemme pharaoh here...

Hidden History of the Human Race?

Alien Project Andre recommends this interview and slide show. I've not heard of this chap and can't attest to his research, but even so these kinds of presentations always lead to some new artifact or ancient artwork that always leads to some new kind of revelation in the grander scheme of things. Here's the spiel:

This video is a 45 minute slideshow, with a personal commentary from Klaus. It's data-rich, detailed, intensive, absorbing, and may contain more startling information about the history of the human race in one place than any other video you've ever seen.

The journey we embark on covers Atlantis, reptilian humanoids, the Anunnaki, ancient symbolism, ancient science, an ancient global language, and much more. This is astonishing material, which has my highest recommendation. Enjoy.

Restoration Revelation: Tut takes Manhattan

Well, the Restoration Revelation continues in 2010, with the magnificent Tut exhibit due to take New York. As just as we saw in London, Anubis made the trip down the East River to promote the opening. Gotta love this shot, juxtaposing the dog-god with the androgynous Isis.

Some fascinating restoration language in this promotional video, setting the tone for the ongoing Tut world tour- the restoration motifs we've looked at in depth on the Secret Sun.

And again we see the adorable moppets in their serpentine headgear. A glimpse of the future? We'll see...

Thanks to Sun reader for the reminder.

Sci-Fi Americas: Rewilding and Radical Urban Planning

Most intelligent people recognize that suburban sprawl is a blight. A lot of people also realize that walkable cities and well-planned communities would be a huge improvement on ghost malls, suburban slums and other hideous after-effects of developer greed and stupidity. Livable cities are the hallmark of a true civilization.

That being said, there are a lot of radical ideas out there that have the strong whiff of elite social engineering. This may or may not be one of them, but fitting the entire population of the US into a territory the size of New Hampshire seems a bit extreme, don't you think? But we're living in a time when plans are being drawn up to bulldoze any number of Rust Belt ghost towns back into farmlands. All bets are off.

We're also living at a time when it seems that the country is being goaded into disintegration, mainly through media shills rejiggering our political symbols and myths into social weapons. It could turn out that certain parts of the US could be radically transformed into sci-fi habitats surrounded by forest and farmland. Keep an eye out for signs of this in the days to come.

Scully Meets Moby

Gillalien Anderson is starring as Ethan Hawke's love interest in a new adaptation of Moby Dick, filmed in Canada. All sorts of tasty synchro tidbits here, not the least of which was her use of Moby music in "all things," the XF ep she wrote and directed (her commentary track for the ep is fascinating listening). Moby's "My Weakness" was also the central theme in "Closure," which dealt with walk-ins and soul migration. William "Altered States" Hurt and Donald Sutherland co-star.

Sci-Fi and the 60s: William Gibson in 1967

The Prophet of Vancouver in an earlier incarnation. Despite the centrality of 2001: A Space Odyssey, we tend to forget the role sci-fi played in the Sixties counterculture. Perhaps because sci-fi came to the fore in the early 70s with the Glam movement and the wave of dystopian sci-fi cinema, and the stereotype of the back-to-nature flower child is the dominant meme pushed in the media.

But Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land (whose lead character was inspired by Crowley in part) was a foundational text of the Aquarian Age, as were the Lord of the Rings novels and Dune. I'd go so far to say that Star Wars was the final testament of the Sixties, with Luke Skywalker (name lifted from Jack Kirby's "Mark Moonrider") as the young seeker, Obi Wan as the Alan Watts/Timothy Leary guru and Han Solo as Neal Cassady, driving the Millennium Falcon (a lightspeed take on Furthur) to the Death Star (think the march on the Pentagon).

More on this to come- keep an eye on The Secret Sun network...

Antarctic Ice Creatures- Europa foreshadowing?

We've been reading a lot of stories about Europa and ETL, now this appears. Is this part of a conditioning process, or is this all a coincidence?

WASHINGTON — In a surprising discovery about where higher life can thrive, scientists for the first time found a shrimp-like creature and a jellyfish frolicking beneath a massive Antarctic ice sheet.

Six hundred feet below the ice where no light shines, scientists had figured nothing much more than a few microbes could exist.

That's why a NASA team was surprised when they lowered a video camera to get the first long look at the underbelly of an ice sheet in Antarctica. A curious shrimp-like creature came swimming by and then parked itself on the camera's cable. Scientists also pulled up a tentacle they believe came from a foot-long jellyfish.

Eerie UFOs over Lake Erie

For more than a week, a mysterious pulsating light has been appearing nightly over Lake Erie east of downtown Cleveland — showing up at approximately 7:30 pm and zipping around in the darkness for about two hours before disappearing — reports MSNBC.

"Child abuse claims sweep Catholic Church in Europe"

I'll let this one speak for itself:

Ireland was the first in Europe to confront the church's worldwide custom of shielding pedophile priests from the law and public scandal. Now that legacy of suppressed childhood horror is being confronted in other parts of the Continent — nowhere more poignantly than in Germany, the homeland of Pope Benedict XVI.

The recent spread of claims into the Netherlands, Austria and Italy has analysts and churchmen wondering how deep the scandal runs, which nation will be touched next, and whether a tide of lawsuits will force European dioceses to declare bankruptcy like their American cousins.

"You have to presume that the cover-up of abuse exists everywhere, to one extent or another. A new case could appear in a new country tomorrow," said David Quinn, director of a Christian think tank, the Iona Institute, that seeks to promote family values in an Ireland increasingly cool to Catholicism.

This one is for my Ten Thirteen peeps

This is like the lost, alternate-universe Ten Thirteen episode you dreamed about back in 1997. This entire series is lousy with Ten Thirteen alumni, but this one takes the cake so far. Most important guest star is Vancouver, of course. Between this and Fringe and V, it's like The X-Files never went off the air. But more importantly, never left the holy city.

Holographic reality... and artificial earthquakes?

Well, I've been catching up with Deep Space Nine episodes while I work and came across this fascinating little yarn- "Our Man Bashir", in which the transporter patterns of some of the crew are trapped in a holodeck game in which Dr. Bashir plays at James Bond. Besides being a very entertaining ep, it also hits on the artificial earthquake and water planet memes. What are the odds?

Nick Redfern reviews The Cryptoterrestrials

I can't wait to read this book. Excerpts:

Well, I have a few choice words for those people who are so rigidly set in their ways: the extraterrestrial hypothesis is itself entirely speculative and totally lacking in hard evidence. All we really know for certain is that there most assuredly is a genuine UFO phenomenon. But, as for definitive proof of its actual point of origin or origins? Please! There is none. At all. There is merely a lot of data clearly demonstrating the presence of unidentified “others” amongst us.

Rather, Mac - right up until the time of his death - was chasing down the theory suggesting that the UFOnauts may actually represent the last vestiges of a very ancient race of distinctly terrestrial origins; a race that - tens of thousands of years ago may have ruled our planet, but whose position of power was thrown into overwhelming chaos by two things: (A) the appearance of a “debilitating genetic syndrome” that ravaged their society; and (B) the rising infestation of a violent species that threatened to eclipse - in number - their own society.

Read the article here.

I have a parallel yet differing opinion to Mac's CT thesis, which will be explored on The Secret Sun in months to come. I like to think it incorporates more of the evidence at hand, but I'll let the readers be the ultimate judge of that when the time comes.

Pope's brother linked to new claims of child abuse by clergy

Fresh allegations emerge over Bavarian school where Georg Ratzinger led choir for 30 years

A series of allegations in Germany and Holland have plunged the Catholic Church into a renewed crisis over how it has dealt with child abuse after it emerged that the Pope's brother ran a renowned choir at the centre of some of the latest claims.

Reports of systematic historical abuse by clergy have surfaced at three schools in the Regensburg diocese in Bavaria. One of them is the much-heralded Regensburger Domspatzen, a thousand-year-old male choir and boarding school, whose choral master for 30 years was the Pope's older brother, Georg Ratzinger.

Mothers of the Stars

We're getting hit with so much space stories, it gets to be a bit numbing. But it's really beginning to look as if these agencies are getting very serious about space colonization. Like with this story; China is now sending mothers into space to determine if there are any effects on their fertility.

They are, of course, in peak physical condition, with the flying skills required of any air force ace. But China's first female astronauts have faced an extra challenge: they had to be mothers to qualify for the country's prestigious space programme.

Two women and five men have been selected as the next generation to go into space, a Hong Kong newspaper reported today, citing an unnamed military source.

Xu Xianrong, an expert at the air force general hospital, said women had advantages as astronauts over men because they were more mentally stable, better able to bear loneliness and had better communication skills.

Mystery Voyager Theatre

Star Trek:Voyager was so insanely, teeth-grindingly terrible it nearly killed the entire Star Trek franchise (and space opera, arguably, as well) forever. Even Jeri Ryan in a lycra suit couldn't redeem this atrocity, which took every annoying tic and quirk and cringe-inducing faux pas of every Star Trek episode ever and built a series around it. It was woefully bogged down by irritating non-characters (all of whom inspire nothing less than an overwhelming compulsion to punch each one of them in the throat) and plots smothered in politically-correct tedium. It also had the most hateful comic relief character ever to appear in a sci-fi franchise (the insufferable "Neelix") until Jar Jar Binks rolled into town. And that includes Herbie the Robot.

The good news is that Voyager did inspire a subculture of YouTube snark peddlers, who subject the soul-killing inanity (especially soul-killing to old school Trek fans like myself) to a variation on the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 treatment. This is a great example, and rips to shreds the most notorious episode ("Threshold") in the series' inexplicable seven-season run.

If you're not a Trek fan, this is still very entertaining. If you are a Trek fan- which in turn means that you hate Voyager- you'll find this evisceration extremely satisfying.

NASA artist Robert McCall dies at age 90

Artist Robert McCall, whose visions of the past, present, and future of space exploration have graced U.S. postage stamps, NASA mission patches, and the walls of the Smithsonian, died on Friday of a heart attack in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was 90.

Once described by author Isaac Asimov as the "nearest thing to an artist in residence from outer space," McCall's paintings first attracted the public's attention in the 1960s on the pages of LIFE, illustrating the magazine's series on the future of space travel. He expanded on that theme at the invitation of director Stanley Kubrick, who had McCall paint the advertising posters for his seminal 1968 science fiction film, "2001: A Space Odyssey."- Space.com
